FYI: SNG7 updates released

@xrobau wrote:

If you're already running SNG7, you should do a 'yum update' - that'll upgrade your machine from 7.2.1611 to 7.3.1612.

There are no major changes in the OS (apart from the 7.2 -> 7.3 changes), and everything should be pretty painless.

One of the new helpers is a 'Tiny 10gb' installation option. I've been finding that I want to install small machines A LOT. So there's now an option that doesn't require you to fiddle around with it to make it work.

The other thing that I'm super nerdly happy about is that the md5sum of this ISO is 00000a2391e607f151fe5027a2fcbdca. It's a REALLY UNUSUAL number, because it starts with all those zeros.

It's like flipping a coin 41 times and getting heads 41 times in a row, and then tails on the 42nd time.

The ISO is on our download page, as usual

My entire phone system locked every extension today at mid-morning. When I restarted asterisk this is what I see in the logs:

Unable to build dialplan routing - invalid license

What is causing this and how is it fixed? What license does Asterisk require to operate?

Timeout on non-critical invite transaction

@milauria wrote:

In my system a chan_sip warning comes up regularly:

WARNING[2447]: chan_sip.c:4120 retrans_pkt: Timeout on fff451ba69f31c38983f7bf25b200555 on non-critical invite transaction.

I see this being a common question but I am asking again as I could not find a guidance to fix my case and any advise is highly appreciated.

First: is this a problem to be concerned about ?
Apparently the system is working ... I can make and receive calls

My phones and freepbx server are all on 192.168.0.x behind a router with fixed public address

On the router:
* SIP ALG is disabled
* Ports UDP 5060 and 10000-20000 forwarded to Freepbx box IP

On the Chan-SIP settings
* Public IP inserted correctly
* LAN inserted as 192.168.0.0/24
* NAT = Yes
* Canreinvite=NONAT

I have tried to put every possible combinations of NAT and Reinvite settings, including disabling the Freepbx firewall but apparently nothing has changed.

I am running latest FreePBX and Asterisk 13

Where else could I look to troubleshoot this ?
Many thanks

I have a an S700 sangoma phone. It's never sounded good.. I did a test call today and you can hear as if packets are dropping. We have a 50/5 internet and the system is in the cloud. The weird thing is, it did the same thing even when it was on premise. Codec issue? SIP ALG is off on the carrier and router.

Good day!
I have bought VQ Plus for one organization. I was hired to customize the PBX.
Client wants this:
While caller in queue, caller dial 1 then hangup.
When become callers turn, hi accept incoming call and coonect to agent without any conformation.
But there is no posibility to change or remove number conformation and accept conformation in Queue callback page.

I am just starting with this project and I am literally finding nothing. I was hoping to find a "how to" that would help me accomplish connecting a hosted FreePBX server to a local pfSense by way of OpenVPN "site to site".

Does anyone have any pointers to provide any direction to go?? I really don't know OpenVPN very well at all however I am very familiar with pfSense.

Thanks

Recording on RAM

@psdk wrote:

Hi,

We have a FreePBX server with 8E1 (Sangoma A108). We know that when calls are more than 180, voice are robotic and server is very slow. We checked the CPU and RAM and they are ok. (HP DL380 G9). So we guess that this is for HDD speed, because all calls are recorded, and when we stop the recording, there isn't any same issue.

I read before about recording on RAM instead of HDD and then move the recorded file to HDD.
Could you please let me know your idea? This solution may help?
Could you please share with me any how-to for this?

Polycom VVX600 Call Pickup

I'm trying to figure out and issue with Polycom VVX series endpoints not able to perform pickup on another incoming call from a BLF. The BLF line shows an incoming call, so I press the line button and hold until 'pickup' appears. I select the pickup option, and the phone dials a single '*' and stops. If I manually dial '**", the call is picked up. This is working fine on other devices, such as a Yealink T48G.

This is on FreePBX 13.0.190.7 hosted on PowerPBX. I'm using EPM for provisioning. Oh, and I'm pretty new to FreePBX.

Thanks!

No audio for remote sites after switching from Trixbox to Freepbx

@Ryland wrote:

I built a new Freepbx server around an Intel NUC to replace an aging Trixbox server and all phones which are on the same subnet as the server can hear audio between themselves but nobody at remote sites can hear audio in or out. The firewall is exactly the same between the two servers (they both have the same IP address so I only have one running at a time). The old server was running Asterisk 1.6.0.26-FONCORE-r78 whereas the new server is:

Freepbx 13.0.190.7
Asterisk 13.7.0

UDP Ports forwarded 5060, 4569, 10000-20000, 5004-5037, 5039-5082.

RTP debug only showed packets going out, none coming in.

I have verified that:
disallow=all
allow=ulaw
is on both old and new server

CHAN SIP is set for port 5061, CHAN PJSIP is using 5060.
SIP NAT is setup and RTP debug shows the external IP address, not the internal ip address of freepbx.

Im not sure what else to take a look at

Change system wide MOH

Hi,

I've created a new MOH class called 'moh'. I've replaced the created music folder with a symlink that I can point to custom music folders (normal music and christmas music) so that I can easily switch between them. When I change the symlink I do 'moh reload' in the console. I have an extension I can call that just plays the 'moh' MOH class and this works fine....when I symlink the normal music I hear normal music on that extension and likewise for the christmas music.

When I change the symlink the parking lot music does not change even though it's set to use that same 'moh' MOH class. The only way I've found to make the parking lot play the right music is to open the 'moh' class in the webpage and resubmit/apply. Is there a way, from the command line, to make the parking lot music update to the newly symlinked music?

Thanks,
Kevin

In the freepbx interface I see 4 types of voicemail:

  • busy
  • unavailable
  • no message
  • instruction only

I have 2 wav files, busy.wav and unavail.wav. When the file is played another message is played which says something like "you can leave a message now" but this message is already in the custom wav files so the caller is prompt twice. Can I turn that off?

What files need to be used for "no message" and "instruction only"? And what are the differences?

I'm not only new to FreePBX but also to VoIP and IT entirely. I am currently at my entry level position so any harsh or condescending comments could go elsewhere. Now that I've stated my Noobness, I can proceed. I recently set up a small business VoIP system that is currently running through DAHDI trunks. I am running FreePBX 13.0.190.7 with Asterisk 13.12.1. We are using Sangoma S500s in the office and S300s throughout the remainder of the plant. 22 deployed phones total with 4 analog lines (phone numbers). I'm basically ready to roll and most all of my configurations are complete. I went to the CEO yesterday to speak about deployment. He asked me for "line" buttons (So-and-so you have a call on line 1), a private inbound route that only the president can use for calling in (that would never be busy), and a visual representation of when all the lines are in use so that he doesn't attempt an outbound call and get "all circuits are busy now" message. Basically, what he wants is to know, from the phone, when the lines are all in use, a better ease of access for parking and this private route. I think the parking idea is just intimidating and I realize I'm going to receive an insane amount of backlash by switching away from the key system. Is there anything I can do to make any of this happen or should I just figure out a way to train them easily to deflect some of the curses I'm about to receive?

Yum dependency problem on SNG 7.2 (wanpipe / dahdi requires kernel 3.10.0-514. Only 3.10.0-327 is provided.)

Hi.
I am running alpha distro on a little box somewhere (was necessary due to NVMe storage).
I did some module updates, but they have left a broken system (it all went crazy in the update screen - not pretty. Now, I had errors copying modules, which i discovered was vmnotify and recording_reports, so i disable those, but still i get retreive_conf failed: exit: 1, but no other debugging information or errors).

Anyway i thought I would try a yum update, but:

Freepbx is dependent on kmod-dadhi and wanpipe, but those are dependent on a later kernel than is available. Any ideas?

Here is the yum output:
